Started the Master Bedroom Floor Today!

We started putting down the wood flooring down in our room today. It took a lot of prep work to get the planks ready to go down. Al removed all of the old rusty nails from the planks and we scrubbed down all of the planks then waited for them to dry out. We are doing the floors the old-fashioned way-hammers and nails-since we don't have the type of nailer used for flooring. But we are enjoying the process and envisioning the finished product. It's very satisfying to get a major project going since it has been a while since we have done anything to our house.

This is what we have done so far and still have much more to put down. It will be so worth it when it's all down, sanded, and finished!

Your floor is going to be beautiful! And you'll have the added bonus of making it beautiful yourself.

The floor is going to look so great when it's all laid out. I look forward to seeing your progress on this project.

Hi Eva, I just discovered your blog and am very interested as we also have a manufactured home...nice floor plan, beautiful location...but "mobile home" structure. I was wondering how you are laying your floor. I had read that you couldn't put wood floors down as there's not the regular wooden flooring frame to connect it to...but, you are obviously doing it! Do you just attach it to the plywood underfloor? Thanks for your blog, I will be a regular visitor to see how you are doing!

How's progress coming along with the flooring? NO, I'm not impatient to see...LOL! Hope it's all coming together and that you enjoyed the long holiday weekend.

I noticed you had the book, Under the Tuscan Sun on the side of your web page. I loved that book. I was in Italy for my Brother-in-law's wedding a few years ago and this brought back some nice memories. I love the way that book was written!

We haven't made much progress than what you see in the pics. But we plan on working on it all evening tomorrow after we get back from hubby's physical therapy appointment, and I will post some pictures of our progress for you then. Thanks for hanging in there with us!

Oh, I wanted to add to Nannykim-I LOVE "Under the Tuscan Sun". It is my second favorite book after "Angela's Ashes" by Frank McCourt. I would love to visit Italy one day!
