Andrew Wyeth

I was searching some art sites today and came across these Andrew Wyeth prints. I was immediately attracted to the earth-toned palette and the rural settings he depicted in his paintings. At the same time, I noted a sort of somber, lonely quality about them.
I do really like the prints though. What do you all think about them ?

"Christina's World" is the first print. Christina was Wyeth's neighbor and was afflicted with polio.

The second print is titled "Master Bedroom" and basically depicts a dog's bond with its owner.

The third print is called "Ides of March", the fourth, "Big Room", and the fifth, "Around the Corner".

The sixth print is called "Ground Hog Day". Notice the lone place setting?
I get a melancholy feeling from most of these. Maybe it's just me. Click here to learn more about Andrew Wyeth.
Good night all!

I love those prints. Especially around the corner and the master bedroom. Are you using something like this in your home? If so, where?

Thanks for the info... a couple of the prints I had never seen before. I agree, there is something lonely about each of them... kind of lets you feel isolation...

Hi! I'm new to your blog- I came over from enchanted cottage. I love wyeth prints too, they are so beautiful and full of emotion- though sometimes very dark.
My favorite print is Island Roses by Jamie Wyeth.

I'll be sure to check back!

Ah, the table setting print is in Mamma Rosa's kitchen. My papa loved this print. And yes, you are right, it gives off warmth & peace & calm. As a child, it was one of my favorites in my home. And when I see it today still hanging in Mamma Rosa's kitchen, I go way back to the warm memories of my childhood. Thanks for sharing bio on artist. Come visit me soon.

Ohh, I just was browsing your blog and saw your Wyeth post. He is one of my all time favorite artists... just stunning work! He only lived about 20 minutes from me. Great feature of his work!
